When exploring Fanore Beach on the west coast of Ireland at low tide I was drawn to the beautiful patterns and vibrant colors of these mussels and barnacles.
There is so much life hidden within each of these still, quiet and steadfast creatures. When the tide finally comes in, the barnacles open and the mussel shells part to enable them to feed on plankton.
They are wonderful symbols of patience, of turning inwards to stillness when we must wait, and for making the most of life right where we are.
