When I knew my Nana’s home was going to be sold, I took photos of her front door from the inside, with light shining through the window. I started this painting based on those images in the early months of 2016 not knowing she would pass away in June of that year. When I was completing the painting after her death, it became symbolic of the “door” that opened for her when she died, inviting her into the beautiful, radiant, loving light beyond.
