The trillium flower in this painting has a sepal which is split (one of three which once protected the blossom). You can see its shadow through the leaf on the right side of the painting. No one is perfect. And no one goes unwounded by this life. And yet, a perfect love can flow through us, like sunshine, and illuminate our words and actions, our presence and attention. When we allow that love to radiate through us, we make the world more caring and beautiful.
