Acrylic on Gallery-Depth Canvas

Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2020, my friend Karen saw something symbolic of herself in a photo of this tomato that appeared in one of my weekly emails. She said of it, “The joyfully yellow tomato is eager and fragile. Despite its scarring and damage there is a whisper of green, presenting hope for new growth. Beautifully imperfect and determined in its survival, the tomato perseveres.” I was thrilled when she asked me to create this piece for her! She affectionally calls it, “Tom.”

You can watch a video of this painting in process, accompanied by words from Karen and me.
