4”x6”
Acrylic on Canvas Board
Subjects for my series of studies needed to be very, very simple in order for me to complete the piece in about a day. I decided, as an experiment, to omit all trees that were in my source photo except the sunlit one to create a single focus and then I brought in more colour.
I’ve realized that I need a similar strategy to bring more pockets of peace and calm into my life. I can ask myself, “how can I make this feel, sound or look simpler or easier” and eliminate some of the things, under my control, that I really don’t need.
Like adding in color to this painting, I can decide what goodness I want to invite into that simpler focus.
Every day I can choose what will help my heart and mind come home to peace and spaciousness. Bathed in the light and love. Illumined.
